Music Birthday: Cher

🔊🥳 Today, May 20, 1946, Cher was born Cherilyn Sarkisian in El Centro, California. Cher has a song called ‘Take Me Home,’ and it was certified gold by the RIAA on May 3, 1979. The song comes from Cher’s 15th studio album of the same name, which also earned gold certification, and peaked on no. 25 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned three singles including the title track, and two of them peaked on the Hot 100: ‘Take Me Home’ (no. 8), and ‘Wasn’t It Good’ (no. 49). The final single, ‘It’s Too Late (To Leave Me Now),’ peaked at no. 87 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart.
