Music Birthday: Raphael Saadiq

🔊🥳 Today, May 14, 1966, Raphael Saadiq was born Charles Ray Wiggins in Oakland, California. Saadiq produced Erykah Badu & Common’s ‘Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)’ in 2002, and it peaked at no. 9 on the US Hot 100. The song was part of the soundtrack album to Brown Sugar, and it’s also included on Badu’s gold-certified “Worldwide Underground” album.
