HomageCollage: Trick Daddy, “Thugs Are Us”

🔊💜Today, March 20, 2001, Trick Daddy released “Thugs Are Us,” his fourth studio album. The album peaked at no. 4 on the US Billboard 200, and it’s lead single ‘Take It to da House’ peaked at no. 50 on the Hot 100. Jim Johnson and Righteous Funk Boogie produced ‘Take It to da House,’ and the latter produced the second single ‘I’m a Thug.’ ‘I’m a Thug’ reached no. 17 on the Hot 100, and Denzel Curry sampled it in his ‘ZUU’ track.
