Music Birthday: Rosa Parks

🔊🎉Today, February 4, 1913, Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama. Parks sued the southern hip hop supergroup OutKast for their use of her name on the iconic single for “Aquemini.” The song was self-produced, and it reached no. 55 on the US Hot 100. Despite ‘Rosa Parks’ being so controversial, it has since been sampled by in songs by Isaac Carree’s ‘So Glad,’ Vic Mensa’s ‘The Fire Next Time,’ Junior Sanchez’s ‘Radio Electron,‘ Iglooghost’s ‘Solar Blade,’ Lupe Fiaso’s ‘$Nitches,’ Lloyd’s ‘Southside,’ and many more.
